Frequently Asked Questions

Everything buyers ask us about owning a Japanese mini truck in America — from the 25-year rule and state registration to shipping, financing and parts.

Buying a truck

How do I buy a truck from Keys Mini Trucks?
Find the truck you want, press “Check Availability” or call us, and we confirm it is still in stock. A deposit reserves it; the balance is due before dispatch by wire, card, cashier’s check or financing. We then prepare the paperwork and ship it to your door.
Can I reserve a vehicle?
Yes. A refundable deposit takes the truck off the market for 7 days while you arrange payment or financing. If you change your mind within that window, the deposit is returned.
Can I see the truck before I buy?
You are welcome to visit our Texas Hill Country lot by appointment. If you can’t travel, we send a live video walk-around, cold-start video and any extra photos you ask for — underside, bed, cab, engine bay.
Are the prices negotiable?
Our prices are set close to market, so there is little room to haggle — but we do offer package pricing on multiple trucks, fleet discounts, and periodic price drops on the Deals page.
Do you offer a warranty?
These are 25+ year-old vehicles sold as-is, but every truck passes our pre-shipment inspection and we describe faults honestly. Optional third-party service contracts are available on request.

Shipping & delivery

How much is shipping?
A flat $350 per vehicle anywhere in the continental USA, fully insured, door-to-door. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted individually. Local pickup from our lot is free.
How long does delivery take?
Dispatch is usually 2–5 business days after payment; transit is 1–3 days for Texas and neighbouring states, up to 5 days for the West Coast and Northeast.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Your carrier’s details and ETA are sent by text and email, and you can follow the status of your inquiry and order in the customer portal.

Financing

Can I finance a mini truck?
Yes. We partner with Republic Finance to offer approvals in under 24 hours, some of the longest terms in the industry, and options for good, bad or building credit. Applying has no impact on your credit score.
How much is the monthly payment?
Every listing shows an estimated monthly payment. As a guide, a $6,000 truck runs roughly $125–$160 per month depending on term and down payment. Vehicles under $10,000 use installment plans instead of the 20 % down structure.
Do you accept trade-ins?
We do. Send details of your current kei truck, van or JDM vehicle through the Sell Your Truck page and we will make an offer you can apply toward your purchase.

The vehicles

What condition are the trucks in?
Every vehicle is mechanically inspected and photographed before it ships. Listings show real mileage, drivetrain, transmission and any known faults; “Delivery mileage only” trucks are brand-new imports.
Which makes and models do you carry?
Honda Acty, Suzuki Carry & Every, Daihatsu Hijet & Atrai, Subaru Sambar & Domingo, Mitsubishi Minicab, Mazda Scrum, plus kei vans, dump trucks, JDM sedans and sports cars — around 900 vehicles in stock at any time.
How fast do kei trucks go?
Most are comfortable at 55–65 mph with 4-speed or 5-speed manuals; supercharged Subaru Sambars and automatic Suzukis cruise a little easier. They are built for work, not the interstate, but they keep up with rural traffic fine.
What fuel economy can I expect?
Typically 35–45 mpg from the 660cc three-cylinder engines — a fraction of a full-size pickup.
Can I get parts?
Yes. Filters, belts, brakes, clutches and body parts are widely available from US kei-parts specialists and directly from Japan; most ship in a few days. Many wear items cross-reference to common US parts.
What can they haul or tow?
Kei trucks carry roughly 770 lb (350 kg) in the bed by Japanese rating — owners routinely haul more on private land — and tow small trailers. Dump-bed versions tip hydraulically for gravel, mulch and firewood.
